Intimidation

How does it feel to be threatened? Why have so many people been listening to company lies and misinformation? It is exactly like we have been warning you people so far. Dart is not addressing the issues and just union bashing. They have even been using our past organizing history without telling you the whole story. Did they tell of the record raises the other places gave to avoid the union? Has Dart done this to avoid the union? Why not give the workers a $2 an hour raise across the board, pay your medical and give you 5 sick days paid and avoid the union all together! They would rather try intimidating you into voting no. Sad, isn't it.

How much will it take to buy you off?

Between the powerhouse law firm of Latham and Watkins, legal counsel from Dart Corporate headquarters, travel and lodging expenses for Dart Corporate executives to be here and the production time lost during the captive audience meeting, Dart has around $500,000 invested in this anti-union campaign. (If this amount is incorrect, have Dart bring the actual figures to light.) Why didn't they just cover everyone in the plant on the health insurance plan with this money? Why not a huge pay raise? How about a bonus? Why won't they give this money to the workers?

Union in "Year 2003"
Dart Worker commentary

What are we striving for? More money? Better lifestyle? Spend more time with family? Go places? Be happy? There is so much that we all want in today's society. And how else are we supposed to get these things we want?

MONEY-TIME-SECURITY!

We are getting close to our voting day. The only way we can make things happen is to make some changes. Don't be discouraged, confused or intimidated….we are all striving to get what we want, or more of what we deserve!

Vote "YES" for Union

Money: We can actually fight for what we deserve in our salary. Negotiating as a union.
TIME: No more over working ourselves to make that extra money, and not having a lot of time with our family.
SECURITY: Of knowing that we as a group united have backup in fair treatment, and recourse if we feel anything is not right around our working environment.

Think about it…This is for our benefit, not theirs!

THE FUTURE IS HERE!
by Christmas Worker
The future has two possible directions.  Before you vote, consider what you'll get WHEN THERE ISN'T A UNION IN YOUR FUTURE. . .

The boss tells you how to act.  All the time.
The boss tells you what to wear.  Hairnet.  Earplugs.  No jewelry.  (Yeah, you can't afford it!)
The boss tells you how to walk.  Stay between the yellow lines and walk the line.
The boss tells you when to work.  Work lunch.  Work overtime without notice.
The boss tells you how to work.  Even though you know the job best, it doesn't matter.
The boss says "Pack it. . . and I don't care if you think it's bad product."
The boss says "Don't pack bad product ever again, that's two days off."
The boss tells you what to say.  ("Don't turn this into a union meeting!")
The boss tells you what you earn.  (What he wants to pay.)
The boss thinks he's your parent.  (He's full of advice for you, child!)
The boss spanks you.  (It's called the point system!)
       The boss feeds you.  (Pizza!)
The boss dresses you.  (In baby blue?)
The boss tells you what to read.  (Yes, only his notices are on the board.)
The boss says:  "Don't even ask for a vote."  Don't forget this major boo-boo and how embarrassing it was.  Now he sings a whole new tune called "Vote!".
The boss says:  "Don't vote for the Union."
The boss is  worth Millions.  You're not.  So, why even think about it?  Be brainless.  Stay out of trouble.  Work cheap.  Listen to him.  He'll tell you exactly how - - not to get rich.  After all, how do you think he got rich?  Paying out chicken feed???  (Answer:  Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!   And he's got all the money that you earned!)
The boss gets away with telling you everything you should think everyday, and he thinks you're too "chicken" to stand up and tell him what you think!  And sometimes you're actually valued for your work - as with a turkey at Christmas!  (Is he just giving you "da boid?")
The boss gave you Christmas day off.  Of course, Ebeneezer Scrooge gave Bob Cratchet Christmas day off too.  That was before Ebeneezer ever saw the Christmas spirits, so what was the moral of the story?  Why, Bob Cratchet got better treatment than you!
The boss is always telling you what to do.  So why shouldn't you automatically vote for his program just because he says to?  That's his plan!
The boss will be the first person to tell you that you don't know what this union thing is about.  He puts down your opinions and he tells you what to think every day because he thinks you are a brainless "pee-on! "

If you're sick of being treated like this, vote YES UNION.  (By the way, It's a sure thing!)

"I am the vine, you are the branches, he who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
John 15:4

Spanish Communication

When Latino workers had issues over their wages, health insurance, disability claims, back pay, job description, safety and so on before the union effort…Dart management did not translate in Spanish to communicate effectively. Now that you workers are organizing, everything needs to be explained verbally and in writing in Spanish. At least they are finally doing this for the workers. Thank the union for that!

"All that harms labor is treason to America. No line can be drawn between these two. If any man tells you he loves America, yet he hates labor, he is a liar. If a man tells you he trusts America yet fears labor, he is a fool."   Abraham Lincoln
